Niykee's personal highlights include getting selected to be part of Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs despite all the turmoil in the last couple of years. Now a magnet for up-and-coming producers she constantly combs through beats that are sent to her and discovers that a lot of them end up sparking song ideas. "I'll be able tell within 5 seconds whether it's a great beat. When I've got a tune in my mind, I will start writing straight away." My guitar is set up on the porch, and I let the thoughts flow. It's usually done within thirty minutes. Niykee says that when she develops as a lyricist and musician, her memories of her childhood are an inspiration. "Even when I don't write about my life directly, the sadness of losing my sister and the pain of my childhood experiences are integrated into my songs," she says. The memories influence my songs and creates a deeper understanding behind all things that's one the most important things that I value. It is important to me to realize that I could listen to any one of my songs 20 years from now and still be happy with what I said.
